Current status: Luarca

I'm late, I know. But I won't miss our weekly date, even though this time I bring something different.

I've spent this week in Luarca, fleeing from Madrid's awful temperature. 

 

Luarca is a small fishermen's village in Asturias.

Local amenities include... breathing fresh air, walking a lot, enjoying the company of friends and tasting local produce.

We also made a visit to Oviedo, a lovely and somewhat noble city nearby.

The city decided to intertwine modernity and classicism and entrusted Calatrava to reshape the space previously occupied by the local football stadium. He then decided to land an alien spaceship on the place.

The building relies on sheer size and geometry to create interest.

But despite its likely construction merits, it ends up being a building full of disappointments.

Heading back to Madrid now, I'll miss the good times spent with my wife, kids and friends (hard to properly capture on camera). Still one week to go, though, so I'll be back next week with more shots from the remaining days.
